  • Hope Ambassador Training

    Greater Shantallow Area Partnership are offering Hope Ambassador Training for Parents.

     

    The training is provided by Resilio in partnership with the Outer North Extended Schools Cluster Programme 2020/2021.

     It is based on research that suggests hope is a teachable skill. It aims to equip parents & guardians with the tools they need to find and maintain Hope even during the most trying of times.

  • GSAP Sharing Stories Workshops

    Greater Shantallow Area Partnership are offering a Sharing Stories Together online course for parents.

     

        

     There will be 2 workshops delivered by Mary Duddy on Zoom on

    Thursday 12th and Thursday 19th November

     

     11.30am-12.30pm

     

    Reading and sharing stories can:

     

    • help your child get to know sounds, help develop language, literacy skills
    • learn to enjoy books and stories
    • develop your child’s imagination
    • help your child’s communication skills develop
    • help your child learn the difference between ‘real’ and ‘make-believe’
    • help develop your child’s emotions

     

    This special time you spend reading together is a great bonding experience for you both.

  • Ballyarnett Community Response Helpline

    The Ballyarnett DEA Community Response HELPLINE has went live again on Monday 2nd November for individuals / families experiencing recent financial hardship as a direct consequence of the coronavirus. We have adopted new procedures and protocols in line with the other Community Response Groups across the council area and agreed with DC&SDC and DfC.

    The core aim of the Ballyarnett DEA Community Response is to ensure that we provide support and assistance to any resident whose financial circumstances have changed / got worse as a result of Covid19. We aim to provide a comprehensive signposting / support service and ensure that every resident is aware of the wide range of services available across this community/city.

  • Derry Catechetical Centre - November a time of remembering those who have gone before us.

    The Derry Catechetical Centre have worked to create resources to help people remember their beloved who have gone before them in the month of November. Mindful that the usual large parish Masses can’t be held, the diocese is trying to encourage families to pray at home and remember their dead.
